Funding for arts projects is available in your community, made possible through the New York State Council on the Arts(NYSCA)Decentralization Program (DEC) and your local or regional arts council.

Through this annual program of local grants for the arts, NYSCA is able to help support the work of community - based organizations and artists in providing arts and cultural activities on a local or neighborhood basis.

Grants are available up to $5000, with an average across the state of about $1200. These grants are available in every New York State county, and are administered by local and regional arts councils and other arts organizations around the state.

Local grants are available for:

  •         arts and cultural projects in every discipline
  •         arts and cultural projects in every community
  •         non profit organizations
  •         individual artists sponsored by nonprofit organizations

Information about local guidelines, categories, eligbility requirements and application deadlines is available at your local DEC site.
