Welcome to the New York State Decentralization Website! Funding for arts projects is available in each county of New York State through the Decentralization Program. Decentralization (DEC) is a regranting system supported by the New York State Council on the Arts. Since 1977, DEC has supported the work of community-based organizations and artists that provide arts and cultural activities on a local or neighborhood basis. Grants range from 300 to 5000, with a statewide average of about 1200. Local and regional arts councils and other arts organizations around the state administer these grants. You may use this website to find out more about DEC, explore other arts resources, learn about some DEC funded projects, and more! |
